FORM

DESCRIPTION

Designed for all CT cross country and middle/long distance athletes. Training takes place on varied terrain on and off campus, including local roads, neighborhoods, and trails. Coaches will review safety expectations, and athletes are expected to use good judgment while running in the community. Practices include steady runs, intervals, tempo work, speed development, and strength sessions. Athletes should bring a water bottle, weather‑appropriate gear, and a simple digital wristwatch daily.

​​​Purpose of the Camp | This camp builds the aerobic base, speed, and strength needed for spring track while also preparing athletes for long‑term development heading into the 2026 XC season. Training includes steady mileage, controlled workouts, strength work, and focused middle‑distance development for the 400, 800, 1600, and 3200.

​

​​​Times | 3:50–5:30 p.m., 5 days per week (most weeks Monday–Friday). Saturday long runs will be held from 8:00–9:30 a.m. Weekly schedules and locations will be emailed to participating families.

​​Dates | January 5 – February 21

​​Location | Cherokee Trail High School, Aurora‑area running routes, and metro‑area locations for Saturday long runs.

​​Cost | $200 per athlete
